Over 100 students, faculty, and staff from across the Notre Dame campus took part in this year’s Love Data Week celebration with the Navari Family Center for Digital Scholarship. Session materials (slides and/or recordings) for applicable events are available for asynchronous viewing. Some highlights:
- My colleague Julie Vecchio and I developed and co-led a “Tips for Effective & Collaborative Research” workshop that centers foundational open science/research practices.
- We themed our celebration around video gaming (to align with ICSPR’s broader 2022 theme of “Data is for everyone”). The following scholars made up our gaming-centric lecturer lineup:
- Dr. Hannah Gunderman (Carnegie Mellon University) gave a wonderful talk about the synergies between gaming and data skillbuilding.
- Dr. Ashlee Bird (University of Notre Dame) discussed the importance of teaching the history of Indigenous representation in video games.
