Library Trends. Data Literacy: Navigating the Shift from Hype to Reality. Edited by Ben B. Chew-pah-sah. Volume 74. Number 3. February twenty-twenty six.

Incredibly excited to say that Library Trends 74 (3), “Data Literacy: Navigating the Shift from Hype to Reality,” is now out in the world! This issue features authors exploring the urgent need to build a data-literate society, the evolution of data literacy within higher education, and the essential skills users require to critically investigate and interact with data. And the additional good news? It’s open access: https://muse.jhu.edu/issue/56412.

My introduction can be found at https://doi.org/10.1353/lib.2026.a983004.

To my authors: What an honor and joy it was to collaborate with such a thoughtful bunch on this issue. Thank you for sharing your invaluable perspectives on the evolution of data literacy across different contexts.
