IASSIST & CARTO 2024: Integrating Open Government Data Perspectives within Data Literacy Efforts

Image depicts a man wearing a blazer with a lanyard carrying a conference badge that reads the following: “Ben Chiewphasa. He, him, his. Columbia University. I.A.S.S.I.S.T. Slash. Carto. Slash. Twenty-twenty-four. Halifax, Nova Scotia. Poster Presenter. In the background is a poster titled “Integrating Open Government Data Perspectives within Data Literacy Efforts.” The poster is mounted an on landscape style poster board with a number eleven tag attached on the upper left hand corner.

In late May of 2024, I traveled to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada for the IASSIST (International Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology) & CARTO (Association of Canadian Map Libraries and Archives) conference! IASSIST consistently hosts excellent events focused on research data and data support activities. This year, I presented a poster comparing and evaluating three instructional scenarios for teaching open government data perspectives in alignment with data/information literacy-centered learning outcomes: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.11403715.
